Everything you want to know before getting started

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to already be fit to start personal training?

A: Not at all. Most of my clients come to me as complete beginners or after years away from exercise. I meet you exactly where you are and build a program safe and appropriate for your current fitness level and health history.

Q: Do you work with older adults or people with injuries?

A: Yes — this is one of my primary specialties. I regularly train adults in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. I hold an Exercise Therapy Assessment certification (upper and lower body) allowing me to safely work around knee pain, hip problems, lower back issues, osteoporosis, and muscle loss conditions.

Q: Can you train me in my condo building?

A: Quite possibly, yes. I offer private personal training inside condo building fitness rooms across Ottawa — no gym membership or travel required. Currently at the Riviera Condominiums and expanding to other buildings. Book a free call to see if your building is a fit.

Q: Where are your gym locations in Ottawa?

A: I offer in-person training at Dunamis Strength & Fitness (1980 Ogilvie Road) and the Personalized Health Centre (1183 Cecil Avenue). I also offer private condo building training and online coaching for clients anywhere in Canada and the world.

Q: How long before I start seeing results?

A: Most clients feel noticeably stronger and move better within 4–6 weeks. Visible changes typically appear between 8–12 weeks. That is why I start everyone with a minimum commitment of 8 sessions — it gives us enough time to get you somewhere real.

Q: Do you offer online training outside Ottawa?

A: Yes. Online programming is available to clients anywhere in Canada. You get a customised weekly training plan, monthly Google Meet check-in, and direct messaging access. $150/month.

Q: What does personal training cost?

A: In-person one-on-one sessions are $93 per session. Online programming is $150/month. Powerlifting coaching packages vary — book a free call to discuss.

Q: Is strength training safe for people with osteoporosis?

A: Yes — and it is one of the most recommended interventions for bone density maintenance. Resistance training slows bone density loss and improves balance, reducing fall risk. I have specific experience designing programs for clients with osteoporosis.

Q: What is powerlifting coaching and who is it for?

A: Powerlifting coaching is for competitive or aspiring powerlifters wanting expert technical coaching, programming, and meet preparation. I am a certified coach, competed provincially, and have coached clients to national competition qualifications. Available at Dunamis and remotely.

Q: How do I get started?
